Week one learning reflection

I feel in last weeks writing exercise I learned more about what it means to be an American. I feel I already knew plenty but added just added more. I took into account that people outside the United States may see us as people who are very selfish and conceded from reading Raleigh's blog. She really had good examples of television shows like Jersey Shore that really show how much we will belittle ourselves and how we portray our country. Honestly, I had never taken that point into account.
